Divimove has recruited Yasmin Akay as its Vice President of Content Strategy to strengthen its Berlin-based team. In the newly created role, she will be responsible for providing comprehensive strategic consulting to brands, broadcasters and platforms in the video sector. No stranger to the sector, Yasmin will bring with her many years of experience and valuable industry know-how, previously gained as Redseven Entertainment's Chief Digital Officer and at Amazon Prime Video and the TV broadcaster RTL Zwei.
In her new role she will report to Tobias Schiwek, who has been CEO of Divimove's European business since January 2019 and was also responsible for the merger with the digital studio UFA X and the Scandinavian multi-channel network United Screens. Together with the members of her team, Yasmin will immediately start playing a key role at Divimove, advising clients in more than eight different European markets.
"I've known and admired Yasmin for many years. She's a passionate and exceptionally well connected expert on digital technology with an excellent nose for new trends. She also comprehends our clients' needs and has a profound understanding of the relevant platforms. Working closely alongside our creative, development and production teams, Yasmin's strategy team will once again enable us to strengthen our philosophy of audience centric storytelling for broadcasters, brands and NGOs. So we're delighted to have her on board," says Divimove CEO Tobias Schiwek.
"I couldn't pass up this chance to work in Berlin with an agile digital company like Divimove, which is active across Europe. It was the opportunity to draw on my years of international experience in various sectors that convinced me to relocate. I'm really looking forward to this new chapter in my career and to working together with my team to translate our clients' challenges into individual, cross-media content strategies that get people excited," Yasmin says about her new role.
Before joining Redseven Entertainment as Chief Digital Officer, at Amazon Prime Video she oversaw all the platform's digital activities in Germany and was in charge of original German productions including You are wanted, Beat and Pastewka. Prior to that, she built up RTL Zwei's social media section and created a hitherto unique link between social media and TV with her digital concepts for the TV series Berlin Tag& Nacht (Berlin Day & Night) and Köln 50667 (Cologne 50667). With her on board, the TV broadcaster won two successive German Awards for Online Communication.
